Biography:
Max Ernst (1891-1976) German painter, printmaker and sculptor, he moved to Paris and helped found Surrealism. He became an artist in the Dada movement. He was married to Peggy Guggenheim, he became increasingly successful. After 1945 he was respected and honored as a surviving representative of a ‘heroic’ generation of avant-garde artists. His Artwork showed in many Museums.
